Catching up!!

Holy Cow! I realized the other day that I haven't written on here in forever!!! Sorry to those who like to keep up on my life. ;) lets see...
Well right after my last post in May I started my job at Beehive Clothing. Lets just say that working for the Church is fantastic. Great benefits, great pay, and a great work schedule. Can't get better than that I suppose. I am working in the Men's Tops department and sew mesh & corbin garment tops all day long. Yeah its not glamorous or wonderful, but I don't have to talk to anyone and get to listen to my ipod all day. Plus they pay me $10.77 an hour to do it. ;) Its not bad! Working from 6:30 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon is the best, I feel like I am getting the most out of my day. On the side every now and then I am doing flowers for weddings of friends and family and keeping up on design. I love it and hope to one day do that full time.
Neil worked for Spanish Fork city for a few months. He was at the Cemetery doing mostly maintaince such as mowing lawns and digging graves. About 3 weeks ago my uncle made him an offer he couldn't refuse. He works full time now for High Country Repair (My Uncles company) doing cement refinishing and also wood work refinishing. He is getting better pay and more hours and enjoying it a lot more. ;)
So this all means that we are so much closer to finally having our own house! We have been seriously looking in the Spanish Fork/Springville area for a few months and are starting to actually call on some of the houses that we like. We want to get the $8,000 house credit, so we are trying to be into a home before December 1st. It will be so exciting!
We have done a lot of camping this summer and just recently came back from our Labor day weekend camping trip. We went up Spanish Fork canyon and camped up Diamond Fork. It was so nice up there. A little bit cooler and even rained a bit. In fact we were on a 4-wheeler ride and just got dumped on! We were so cold by the time we made it back to camp. Good thing we had an extra change of jeans. ;)
Other than work and an occasional camping trip nothing much else has happened this summer. We spend our free time with each other either looking at houses or doing some geocaching. Were excited for a little bit cooler weather and also our 1 year anniversary is coming up in November! So crazy that it is almost here, its flown by for us.
I will try to keep you updated more than once every 4 months! I am getting horrible at Blogging! ;)

In Memory of... on Memorial Day

Driving around this holiday weekend the local radio stations have been playing Memorial Day tributes for those who have served our country. Not just the most recent soldiers, or the first soldiers, but all those in between as well. It was interesting to hear of the stories the Veterans told, about how their friend was next to them one minute and gone the next. Most of the stories were of devastation and hurt, but there was some of triumph and success. During the tribute they were playing background music along with the stories, it was when the bagpipes came on playing Amazing Grace that it got to me. As tears welled up in my eyes, I thought of my grandfather. Ronald Joe Jensen served in the United States Air Force. I always love hearing stories of my grandfather and my grandmother alike. My grandfather was one of the happiest people I know. No, I don't think he ever had to go to war for our country, but he later on lost his battle with cancer. At his funeral there was a flag draped over his casket. It made me proud to see that, someone in my family was willing to fight for our country. It was later folded and presented to my grandmother. The 21 gun salute was also presented before the funeral was over, I remember listening to every shot. I remember the services being patriotic, a thanks from our country. I think most people now days think that Memorial Day is just another holiday off work, a day for barbeque's, and the start of summer. They forget that its the day we remember our fallen brothers and sisters, and those that made it through the hell we call War. Arlington National Cemetary
So from the bottom of my heart, on Memorial Day, I say Thank You. Thank You for making it possible for me to sleep peacefully in my bed at night, for allowing me to live in a country that is Free, and letting me fly the colors of this great country.

I GOT A JOB!!! Finally. So glad too cuz I am getting bored out of my mind being at home. I will be working at Beehive Clothing sewing temple garments. Not a bad scheldule either, 6:30 am to 3:00. Very nice pay and... BENEFITS!! YES! we will be covered! I start the day after memorial day so we will see how it goes. I am very excited but nervous at the same time because I have never really sewed anything in my whole life. But there is training involved so cross your fingers that I will do good. ;)Yesterday while being bored from no job, I was playing around with my dads camera and have always wanted to do one of these pictures. ;) It was very fun, and I am excited with how it turned out. Hope you like it too!

WE'RE HOME!! WE'RE HOME!!! (like a month ago)

Okay Okay, I am a bit slow on letting people know that we are finally back in Utah. And thank goodness for that. Sorry for those of you who were waiting for my blog to be updated (like the dentist girl that told my mom to scold me, you know who you are). Its finally happening.

Neil finally found a job after a few weeks of being home. He is working for Spanish Fork City Cemetary doing landscaping and such. He is pretty much promised the job till November, so were still looking for something more permanent. But for now he seems to like it and its bringing in money, so I can't complain. I, on the other hand, haven't found a job yet. :( I have applied for several secretary/receptionist postions and had a few interviews but have yet to find one that wants me. Were just hoping that it means there is a better one out there for me. So if any of you hear of anything at all, please let me know. I am going insane not doing anything but look for jobs all day.

I have had some time to spend with my mom and that has been nice. Also time to spend with other family. I am loving being back at home with everyone. Its just nice to be close.

I know this one is boring and lacking in photos, but until the funness picks up, I got nothin. :( but...

WE'RE BACK!!!

Spring!

Well we thought that Spring came to Rexburg last Friday and Saturday, but we were wrong. Winter weather came back to bite us in the butt. However it was wonderful weather for the Wedding and Events Show. It was a stressful show, at least setting up for, but it was worth it. I got to spend some time with my friends. ONLY 18 MORE DAYS TILL UTAH!

One of the Designs I helped with.

My interpretive design. I interpreted the picture to the left of the design.

Halfway Home!

Its midterms. Most of the time I would be absolutely hating this time of the semester, but this means we are half way done with being here. About 50 days now!! Its gonna fly by. Next week we have Neils birthday, and then the week after that it is back down to Utah for another visit/fieldtrip. I have a trip down there for my Plant Culture class. Not to excited about following my whole class around there while I could be spending it with my family. But its worth a lot of points in the class.
We found out that Kelsey and Melissa are going to Disneyworld in March too. Can I say we are JEALOUS!!! We so want to go!! Doug take us too!!! ;) Yeah right, I can't leave school for that long. They are gonna have a blast tho. ;) Bring us something back!!
We wish the weather was warmer up here. It gets to about to 35 here, thats about all. I hear in Utah it gets to be about 50. We so wish it was like that here! Spring needs to come!!
Oh also for my family (and anyone else that would like to see), I posted my Competitive Design piece on my other blog. You should go take a look! http://greenstemsdesigns.blogspot.com Tell me what you think. ;)

GOOD NEWS!!!

So we decided that we are moving home in April. It is so expensive to live up here in Rexburg, especially since there is no job market here. Don't worry its not a sad thing tho, we are psyched about it!!!! We were nervous for awhile because we had to sell our contract ourselves. And here it is hard, because no one wants one. But we found out today that The Village (our apartment complex) is going to buy back our contract!!!! YES!!!!! It is such a relief, and another reassuring sign that we are doing what were suppose to be doing.
We can't wait to be back at home. Utah is just the best, Idaho is just boring. Seriously. There is nothing to do here. We are looking forward to camping, hiking, and just hanging out with our families. ;) Everyone just pray that we can find jobs once we get back. ;) See you in a few months!!!

Tagged By Kira - 5 Things I am Addicted To

Well my sister tagged me in one of these things. So I thought since I have never done one, I would start now. ;) However, next time I see her, she will pay....

No. 5 - Flowers. I have studied Floral Design for three years now at Brigham Young University - Idaho. Since I am not a huge fan of subjects like math, history, or business, I play with flowers all day everyday. I never have finals in any of these classes either. I plan on opening my own design business. But you won't be finding me on main street of a small town. It won't be retail, I will work out of my home doing wedding and event design. That way when we have kids I can still be at home with them.
No. 4 - The Sun. Although not quite at the level the picture shows. I just love the sunshine! The cold makes me so sad and depressed. I wish that I could live in some place warm all the time, and have all my family with me there too. Summer time is by far my favorite season. There is just something about being able to wear boardshorts, flipflops, and boating out on the lake that makes it so much fun. ;)

No. 3 - Being Outside/Adventures I absolutely love being outside. That is actually a huge thing that me and Neil love doing together. If we didn't have jobs, then we would just be exploring a new place every day. During the summer we try to do something like this every weekend. Whether it be bike riding, hiking, boating, or anything else outside. Keeps us busy and we have a blast doing it.

No. 2 - GREY'S!!!! Yeah, I am really addicted to this one. Pretty much since the first season. I own all the seasons out on DVD (1-4) and plan to keep buying them as long as the show is still going. Thursday nights are my night to watch TV. After Grey's Private Practice is on as well. While Neil & I were dating I got him addicted to it as well.

No. 1 - My handsome Husband. Since the day we started "hanging out" we haven't been apart since. He is my best friend and always will be. He makes me laugh everyday, and I try to do the same. I Love you Neil!!!
For this I tag Melissa, Scott & Kim, Sasha, & Sandra. ;)
Good Luck all!

Temple Pictures

So I finally made an album on Facebook of our Temple pictures. ;) As I was looking at them I remembered how fun that day was. It was so special. I can't wait for my sisters to get married in the temple so that I can share that special day with them. ;)

New Favorite Books

So for some of my Floral classes this semester I have had to get some new books. Every time a teacher says, "I had to order them in." means that they will be pretty darn expensive, because you know they won't have any used ones. Bummer. However these two books were totally worth the extra money to get new!

Now maybe it is just because I am a Floral Designer (actually it probably is), but i love this book! Amy Stewart, the Author, travels around the Floral Industry. Not only here in the states but in all the countries that have growers, everywhere the wholesalers get their flowers from. Such as Ecuador, Holland, Columbia, etc. Since working at a wholesaler this summer, I have found a new passion in learning about these growers and farms. I love it! This book... is the book of all books. Anything you ever need to know about Floral design or anything related to Floral design is in here. Holy cow! I looked at this for hours!!! I love love love it!! It is put together by several AIFD members. AIFD stands for: American Institute of Floral Designers. The best of the best designers from all over the world!!! Hopefully one day I can be AIFD!!!

A New Year, and things we miss from Utah

Well I am a few days late, but Happy New Years to all! Our New Years started out pretty sucky but ended awesome. We were going to go to our ward party with friends, but once we got there, friends hadn't shown up (no surprise) and we didn't know anyone there. So we pretty much walked in and walked right back out. :) Sitting at home in my pajama's with my hubby was much more fun anyways. So our first New Years together was perfect for the both of us.

Our Christmas vacation couldn't have been better. We got to see all of our family and be together. After 3 weeks in Idaho we traveled back to Utah to enjoy the Christmas season. We stayed at my parents house on a hard hard futon mattres. Ouch! It was nice to be home tho.
The best part was being able to see my sweet dog. I miss her all the time. She is such a good cuddler. She would wake us up every morning and fall back to sleep with us for a few more hours. Although I wasn't very happy to be with her on Christmas night. She ate a king size Symphony chocolate bar. Eww. And for any of you that are dog lovers you will know that chocolate is poison to dogs. So I had to clean up all four times that she threw it all back up. But she is fine now and still driving my mom crazy. ;) I am starting to think that she can eat anything and be fine. She has consumed... a stick of butter, blue paintballs, a glass of chocolate milk, a wooden handle of a steak knife, and her most recent candy bar since i have had her. She is like super dog. However, my vet doesn't really like her much, he just sighs when he finds out what she has done now. We also got to spend some quality time with Neil's nephew Kyler. He is the cutest kid ever. His giggle is infectious! My sister-in-law Melissa got some cute video's of him on her blog. He is growing up so fast and we miss him so much.

We miss everyone from home!!! We wish everyone could be here with us, or we could be home with them. Soon enough tho, just gotta finish school. Hope all of you had wonderful holidays!
